Greetings Families,
Welcome to the High School for Energy and Technology. The 2026-2027 school year will officially begin on Thursday, September 10, 2026. Freshman Orientation will be held on Wednesday, September 9th at 10:30 am. All incoming freshman and new students are invited with their families.
Our next Parent Association (PA) Meeting is scheduled for Thursday, September 17, 2026 from 6:00 PM - 8:00 PM. Please join the HSET PA as we welcome new families into our community.
NYS Regents Exams will be administered on August 18-19 for the summer, followed by the next window in January 2027. There will be no classes scheduled on these dates. Only students taking the Regents on these dates will be allowed into the building.
During the school year, the school opens at 7:30 am Monday through Friday for scholar breakfast. Scholars should be in 1st period by 8:20 am. Our attendance goal is 90% for all students.

HSET Student Laptop Request for Home Use
Please schedule a day and time to pick up a student laptop for home use. Parent or Guardian must pick up the device at the building. Please complete the form and arrive on your scheduled time with a valid picture identification.

Did you know that you can track your child’s education on any computer, phone, or tablet? You can sign up for an account by entering a few basic details. This will allow you to begin receiving notifications from the DOE. It only takes five minutes, and it is the first step in getting a full account.

Update Your Contact Information
Stay up to date on important announcements from the DOE, including school closures and events happening in your district or citywide! With a New York City Schools Account (NYCSA) account, you can update your contact information, fill out important school forms online, and see your child’s grades, schedules, test scores, assigned transportation, attendance, and more. You can sign up for an account today with just your name and contact information!
To connect an account to your child’s school records, please contact the Guidance Counselors to confirm your information.

Late Detention
Students arriving late to school will serve detention as outlined in the memo. The school building opens at 7:30 AM every day for breakfast. The 1st Period of the day commences at 8:24 AM. Any student that is not present for the start of their Period 1 class is considered late.

PBIS Rewards
Teachers and staff can immediately acknowledge positive student behavior from a mobile device. In the classroom, teachers can use a web browser and the PBIS Rewards Group feature to award points from their desk.
